Ini Onukis the Executive Secretary of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ).
A 2008 Draper Hills Fellow on Democracy and Development at Stanford UniversityCalifornia, Ini holds a degree in International Relations & Diplomacy and a Masters degree in Management. A Facilitator/Management Trainer, she is also an international consultant on Gender, Peace-building & Governance. Prior to joining WIMBIZ, Ini served as the Executive Director, Defence for Children International – Nigeria Section, an international, independent non-governmental organization.
A former consultant with the Women, Gender and Development Directorate of the African Union and the African Centre for Gender & Development within the UN Economic Commission for Africa, she has been instrumental in developing several training tools that build the capacity of ordinary African women.
She’s also led needs assessment projects for civil society organisations within West Africa and recently completed a Training module on “Children and Armed Conflicts in West Africa”, in collaboration with the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) situated in Ghana. A committed gender advocate and feminist, Ini has engaged policymakers at all levels.She sits on the Board of some non-governmental organisations. She is married with three (3) children.
