Yewande graduated from University of Lagos in 1982 with a Bachelor's degree in Law. She obtained an LL.M from Cambridge University in 1984.

Yewande began her career in 1984 as a legal officer in the Nigerian American Merchant Bank. Thereafter, she had a brief stint in private legal practice with the firm of R.I. Kuku & Co.

In 1989, Yewande joined Ecobank Nigeria Plc as the pioneer Company Secretary and Legal Adviser. During her 13 years with the bank, she supervised various units including legal, corporate affairs, credit administration, remedial and human resources. She moved into mainstream banking in 2000 as head of the bank's private banking unit.

In pursuit of her dream of becoming an entrepreneur, Yewande resigned from Ecobank to establish Eventful Ltd, an events management company. Yewande loves challenges and seeks to maximize her potentials in all that she does.

She is married to Teni and they have two children.
