We have collaborated with several organizations.

  • We have collaborated with Junior Achievement, Nigeria for the past two years acting as role models and annual mentors for young African girls in secondary schools attending the LEAD Camp (Leadership, Empowerment, Achievement, Development).
  • To round up the year 2005, WIMBIZ collaborated with PeopleTemp, a recruiting and temporary placement agency, to organize a career development seminar titled Empowering You for a Better Future. This was borne out of the need to help young people discover their talents and potentials; identify and formulate career goals and equip them with skills to improve their marketability.
  • Hosted the Governor of the Bank of Botswana with the Nigerian Economic Summit Group
  • WIMBIZ has a working relationship with the International Trade Centre in launching its Nigerian Network of Women in Services Export, as a pilot case.
  • In March 2006, we worked with the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate to organize the Women History Month Roundtable discussion on Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams.

ENDORSEMENTS

Young though we are, we are building a formidable brand that we lend to other NGOs and businesses that speak to align with our vision.

  • In March 2006, we endorsed the staging of Eve Ensler’s play The Vagina Monologues by Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND). This was in celebration of the V-Day Worldwide Campaign to celebrate women and raise awareness for a world without violence.
  • Access Bank is also working through WIMBIZ to promote its Access Women In Business Club as a basis for its Gender Entrepreneur Programme in partnership with the International Finance Corporation.
