NGO Hinges National Growth on Women Empowerment (continued)

Wuraola, however, decried the situation whereby young ladies were used as unethical marketing tools by some organizations.  In her words “Why should a corporate organization employ a lady and give her targets that are not attainable and further encourage her to wear indecent dresses to induce clients or customers, this is very bad I must say” she said.

According to her, women had in the past been neglected in the management at the national level and for women to get more prominent in the national governance, it was high time for the government to employ hands of more competent women to handle particular posts rather than just fixing incompetent women to keep women’s eyes off governance.

Identifying the challenges of loan difficulties in banks, she urged the banks to stop discriminating against women with the belief that they would not utilize the fund efficiently and tasked the youths to open savings accounts earlier for them to establish their own businesses with ease.

WIMBIZ is an NGO created by 14 individual achievers to identify and tackle the serious issues concerning women in the business workplace and public management.

WIMBIZ vision according to a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Mrs. Yemisi Ikuomola, is borne out of a  desire to assist women manage the main fold challenges faced in the workplace and enable them to fulfill their potential and a meaningful contribution to economic development.

“There are challenges particularly to women which prevents them from attaining leadership positions.  Women, therefore, need support and encouragement to rise up to the task to overcome these challenges in order to become successful whether as a career woman in corporate organizations or as entrepreneurs” the statement notes.
